Usagi Wasabi is a self-taught illustrator from Houston, Texas who creates lush imaginative worlds full of meaningful details - each piece has a unique story to tell. 

She has a passion for nature and animals, both of which are prevalent in her intricate illustrations. Her works include an extensive portfolio of works in watercolor, acrylic, relief printmaking, and gouache. Public art has quickly become her favorite form of expression as it brings about a positive energy to its inhabited space. Her goal is to bring works of art that bring joyful emotion to those that experience it.

Her works are often nature based, but with an augmented reality and strive to amplify the structural beauty we see in plants and animals, creating rich and vibrant worlds both familiar and alien to us. 

Her latest projects include a 60 by 16 foot mural painted on corrugated metal for the Houston Zoo for their centennial celebration.
